Since joining Eyefinity in 2014, Charlie's leadership, technology expertise, and customer-centric mindset have helped elevate Eyefinity's suite of solutions to meet the changing needs of eye care professionals and practices.
Prior to joining Eyefinity, Charlie was vice president of engineering at AOL, where he was responsible for the product engineering of the AOL Mail, Address Book, and Calendar product lines. These multitenant, cloud products served a monthly audience of 25 million unique visitors with an average of 4 billion page views.
Charlie earned an MS in software systems engineering from George Mason University and a BS in computer science from Siena College. He enjoys spending time with his wife and two boys, running, playing tennis, and volunteering.
Dr. Valerie Sheety-Pilon is vice president of clinical and medical affairs at VSP Vison where she helps drive strategic initiatives aimed at raising awareness about vision, eye health and its connection to overall wellness, while providing insight into medical advancements that seek to benefit patient care. With more than two decades of experience as a Doctor of Optometry, she has dedicated much of her time to clinical research across numerous ophthalmic subspecialties and has an established history of helping patients through novel therapeutic agents and clinical adoption of transformative technology in the areas of digital health, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices.
Prior to joining VSP Vision in 2019, Dr. Sheety-Pilon served as adjunct clinical professor at Illinois College of Optometry, held various executive positions within the eye health industry, and built extensive experience managing and practicing within an ophthalmology and optometry practice. She was recognized by Vision Monday as one of the Most Influential Women in Optical in 2021.
Focused on maintaining strong relationships with VSP network providers nationwide, Eyefinity’s vice president of optometric relations, Phernell Walker, is responsible for developing, sustaining, and elevating relationships with all members of an eye care practice—from staff to optometrists and ophthalmologists. In his role, Phernell frequently visits practices and connects with the industry through conferences and education courses. This outreach helps bridge the needs of providers with Eyefinity’s technology to ensure continuous improvements in our software.
As a nationally acclaimed speaker and the author of the textbook, Pure Optics, Phernell's passion for eye care is widely recognized. He also stands out having earned a Master in Ophthalmic Optics (ABOM), a credential held by a select few, and an MBA. Beyond his professional pursuits, Phernell enjoys astronomy and is a trumpet player in the Big River Big band in Portland, Oregon.
As vice president of supply chain marketing, Kelly Balaam heads the Eyefinity marketing division, she is responsible for leading all product-marketing, branding, channel and go-to-market strategy efforts, as well as managing the company's sales enablement and digital marketing team.
Kelly brings more than 25 years of experience in health care marketing and communications to her role. Prior to joining Eyefinity in 2012, Kelly held senior level positions with several health-focused organizations where she drove marketing initiatives for multiple electronic health record implementations.
She enjoys hiking, reading and spending time with her family.
As regional vice president and head of sales at Eyefinity, Isaac Kinter is responsible for leading the Eyefinity sales team.
Isaac has been with Eyefinity since 2010. He began his career immediately out of college as a customer service representative. He then spent time on the software support teams for OfficeMate and AcuityLogic before transitioning to the inside sales team. He quickly excelled into a senior account executive role and eventually became the regional sales manager, before landing in his position as the head of sales. Isaac attributes his success to his faith, cultivating a positive environment, building relationships, and learning from every situation.
Isaac received his Bachelor of Arts in Communications from California State University of Fresno, where he was also a 4-year starter on the Football team. Outside of work, he enjoys fitness, sports, and spending time with his wife and 4 daughters.
As senior director of product management, Troy is responsible for the strategy, planning, and management of Eyefinity products.
Troy brings 14 years of software product management experience at various Silicon Valley companies. Most recently, Troy was director of product management at NetApp, a Fortune 500 company, where he was responsible for multiple software product lines that drove $1B of the company’s revenue. Prior to NetApp, Troy led product management functions at Topio, Candera, and Legato Software, and started his career at Accenture performing both technical and management consulting.
Troy holds an MBA from the University of California, Davis, where he was the class valedictorian and graduated with honors, and holds a master of engineering in aeronautical science, also from the University of California, Davis. He enjoys spending time with his family biking, hiking, kayaking, camping, and anything else outdoors.
As senior director of customer care, Jeff Lombardi is responsible for leading the Eyefinity customer care team, which includes training, education, and customer support.
Jeff has been with Eyefinity since 2010 and has more than 20 years of experience in software customer support with companies in the telecommunications, finance, and healthcare industries. He has led teams at Agilent and Intuit to support customers on a corporate and individual basis, as well as at the international and national levels. Jeff attributes his success to his dedication to improving the customer experience.
Jeff received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Davis. Outside of work he enjoys golfing, cycling on all the wonderful trails in the Sacramento area, and spending time with his family.
